Faculty Openings at UIS (Colombia)/ Concurso Docente en la UIS

 

The School of Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering - E3T of the Industrial University of Santander - UIS (Bucaramanga, Colombia - South America) has ten (10) tenure-track full time faculty positions. In particular, in an effort to strengthen their research capability, they are looking for candidates with a strong research record in one of the following areas:

PROFILE 1: Electrical Engineering (1 position, Youth Talent)
 PROFILE 2: Electronics Engineering (1 position, Youth Talent)
PROFILE 3: Electrical Engineering (4 positions, General) 
PROFILE 4: Electronics Engineering (2 Positions, General) 
PROFILE 5: Telecommunications Engineering (2 Positions, General)

 

For the General positions, successful candidates will have a Ph.D. and they are expected to supervise undergraduate and graduate students, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop a sponsored research program, collaborate with other faculty, and be involved in service to the university and the profession.
For the Youth Talent positions, successful candidates will have summa cum laude or cum laude undergraduate degree, and should be less than 24 years old for those only with BSc degree or less than 27 years old for those with MSc degree. They are expected to supervise undergraduate (and graduate students in case of MSc graduates), teach undergraduate (and graduate courses), develop a sponsored research program, collaborate with other faculty, and be involved in service to the university and the profession. Also, youth talent hires are expected to start a PhD program in a leave-of-absence basis in their research area or interest.
Deadline for applications is October 5, 2012, 5:00 p.m. (UTC/GMT - 5 h). Earlier submission is encouraged.  The University might accommodate teleconference or videoconference meetings for applicants unable to travel to Bucaramanga during the selection process.
